Akvilė is Lithuanian for “eagle,” and this shoe began as a custom order for a dancer who lives up to her name: Akvilė of @akvile.tango.fit. This edition keeps everything that makes it hers: mirror-black patent leather, open at the toe and along the sides, a closed heel that holds the foot firmly, and a long, slim strap that wraps the ankle before it fastens at a gunmetal buckle set with a single rhinestone.
The difference is underfoot. A black rubber sole made for the street replaces the dance sole. It's flexible, finely ridged for grip, and tough enough for pavement, so the same heel can carry you through dinner, a gallery opening, or a long night out. Everything above the sole is built exactly like our tango heels, with the same structure and the same comfort.
